postheadericon Nursing Intervention Plan

 Stage III of the Nursing Process

At the third stage of the nursing process, a plan of nursing interventions for further care of the patient. Planning is the process of setting goals (desired outcomes of care) and determining the scope of nursing interventions.

Goal setting allows you to:

  • determine the strategy and tactics of nursing interventions;
  • evaluate the degree of effectiveness of nursing intervention at stage V.

The patient is actively involved in goal planning. The nurse motivates the patient to achieve success. Goals must be realistic and achievable.

Goals are divided into:

  • short-term - up to 1 week;
  • long-term - for a long period (for example, diseases, postoperative care).

Any nursing intervention plan is based on:

  1. definition of types of interventions (dependent, interdependent, independent);
  2. taking into account the disturbed needs of the patient;
  3. selection of methods of nursing interventions.
