The sequence of actions of a nurse

 

  • Prepare sterile gauze turundas, sterile tweezers, medicinal ointments, rubber gloves and containers with disinfectant .
  • If necessary, hold the patient's ear toilet.
  • Before laying the ointment in the ear, read the name of the drug.
  • Inform the patient about the administered drug, clarifying the allergic history.
  • Apply ointment to turunda.
  • Pull the auricle up and back to straighten the external auditory canal.
  • Turunda with ointment is introduced into the external auditory canal using sterile tweezers.
  • Remove the turunda from the ear canal and dip it into a container with a disinfectant solution.
  • In the second ear, the ointment is laid in the same way.
  • After the manipulation , placing the ointment in the ear , disinfect, combined with pre-sterilization treatment of instruments and disinfection of the waste material.
